Versatile LaTeX classes and packages

This is purely a portfolio project, developed entirely on my own. This is not an official site. The website is in no way affiliated with the LaTeX package KOMA-Script and is not operated by its developers.

Friends

LaTeX packages that were formerly part of KOMA-Script or originated within the KOMA-Script ecosystem.

Spin-Offs

Former KOMA-Script packages now maintained as standalone projects.

contract

KOMA-Script spin-off, formerly named scrjura, now an independent package for typesetting contracts.

scrdate

KOMA-Script spin-off that determines and prints weekday names and weekday numbers for any date, with support for many languages.

scrhack

Deprecated

Deprecated KOMA-Script spin-off that now only loads the separate third-party enhancement packages when the corresponding original package is used.

scrlayer-fancyhdr

Redefines the page styles of fancyhdr using KOMA-Script's scrlayer, so features of both can be combined.

scrtime

KOMA-Script spin-off that prints the current time of the LaTeX run in the document, useful for drafts.

scrwfile

Maintainer wanted

KOMA-Script spin-off that routes write operations through the .aux file so LaTeX almost never runs out of write registers.

Improvements and extensions of third-party packages

Packages that improve third-party packages. They become obsolete once their maintainers adopt the functionality.

floatbytocbasic

Makes the float package use KOMA-Script's tocbasic, fixing its outdated interface while keeping the float user interface unchanged.

floatrowbytocbasic

Makes the floatrow package use KOMA-Script's tocbasic, fixing its outdated interface while keeping the floatrow user interface unchanged.

lscapeenhanced

Fixes the handling of \textheight and \textwidth on landscape pages in lscape and can load pdflscape via an option.

setspaceenhanced

Makes setspace work with base font sizes beyond 10pt, 11pt and 12pt and improves its handling of font size changes inside the document.

Other Friends

Additional packages by the KOMA-Script author with ties to the ecosystem.

contract-lab

Experimental

Internal experiment exploring what a contract package could look like on top of the still-evolving latex-lab code.

defoldfonts

Defines the obsolete font commands \rm, \sf, \tt, \bf, \it, \sc and \sfb as a stopgap for old BibTeX styles and packages.

gridset

Maintainer wanted

Experimental package for grid typesetting with manually inserted markers, unsupported and not recommended for production.

komafancychap

Experimental

Experimental package that recreates the chapter styles of fncychap for the KOMA-Script classes.

longtwocolumn

Provides \longtwocolumn, a variant of \twocolumn whose single-column content may span several pages.

marginnote

Maintainer wanted

Provides \marginnote, a non-floating alternative to \marginpar that also works inside floats and footnotes.

splitindex

The LaTeX package splitidx and the index preprocessor splitindex allow any number of indexes without running out of write registers.

standardsectioning

Reimplements the sectioning commands with the code of the standard classes so third-party packages like titlesec work with KOMA-Script classes.

uni-titlepage

Collects real-world title pages and implements them behind a well defined interface, so switching title page styles becomes easy.

makelabels

LCO file that adds a \makelabels label page to the KOMA-Script letter class scrlttr2 and the package scrletter.

Presentation: LaTeX as a Synonym for the Separation of Form and Content

LinuxTag 2005 beamer presentation whose sources contain various LCO files and letter layout examples.

wsu

Example LCO file for scrlttr2 and scrletter that implements the corporate identity of the Washington State University letterhead.
